Tonight I am finally heading back to the US. We have travelled hundreds of miles by car through Uganda and Rwanda, through some of the most beautiful scenery that exists. We have met wonderful new people at every stop and reconnected with all of our extended Pilot Light family of colleagues, beneficiaries, drivers, hotel staffs that we see over and over and, of course, with the family of PL Program Director, Delphin. We have cried and we have celebrated with our beneficiaries. We have had the chance to understand our failures and successes, our weaknesses and our strengths in programming. We have seen our progress, but also how much work there is left to do.
I hope you have enjoyed following the blog and sharing this extraordinary experience with us. This annual trip is a long and hard one, but it is always interesting. My hope is that you will consider helping us to keep these projects going and improving the quality of life for literally thousands of people in hundreds of households in East Africa. You can do this by making a donation and/or hosting a screening of our up and coming video by Sherwood Films.
Thank you for joining us. Light a spark!
